Meet Nirmala Wijerathne BSc, MPA

Accountant

Nirmala Wijerathne

BSc (Accountancy), MPA (Professional Accounting)

Nirmala is originally from Sri Lanka and has built a strong career in accounting and financial management. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Financial Management at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka and later obtained a Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).

Over the years, she has worked in a range of organisations in Sri Lanka and Maldives, developing solid skills in handling multi-company accounts, tax compliance, and improving financial processes.

Nirmala moved to New Zealand in August 2024 to pursue a master’s in professional accounting at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, which she has now successfully completed. She initially joined Lynch & Associates as an intern and has since progressed to a permanent role within the firm.

Nirmala is a family-oriented person who enjoys spending time with family and values strong personal connections. In her free time, she loves listening to music and singing, watching cricket, taking part in community and charity activities, and home gardening.
